Primrose Hill
King Henry’s Road & Fitzroy Road Pre-schools
Children start morning pre-school at our Fitzroy Road centre, usually in the term after they turn two. Many of them will have spent the previous year at Beginners, getting to know the teachers and elements of the READY STEADY GO day. Children generally transition to full day pre-school at our King Henry's Road centre the following September
Mornings at Fitzroy Road
Primrose Hill Community Centre, 29 Hopkinsons Place, Fitzroy Road, London NW1 8TN > VIEW ON MAP
Monday to Friday, 9:00am–12:00pm
A ground–floor, flat-entry building in the heart of Primrose Hill, little more than 100 metres from the park.
The main teaching area is a large, community hall with brick walls, wooden floors and a wall of glass windows, creating a warm, light space. The hall leads directly out to a secluded outdoor space with a small paved area and a larger garden with flower beds, a mud kitchen and a playhouse guarded by a bear.
Children also have use of the upper hall, which is used for movement and dance. Children make regular visits to nearby Chalcot Square.
“It's great running the pre-school from the community centre. The children's world at this age is beginning to widen and the local events held there provide a wealth of opportunity for discussions.”

Full day at King Henry's Road

Monday to Friday, 9am–2pm
Option for extended day until 3pm
The older children attend our full day pre-school. The centre also has a small reception group, of up to 8 children, who stay at the king henry’s road location for a second year.
The main teaching space is a large, light, open-plan room. Wall-height glass doors lead directly out to a generous outdoor space, paved and bounded by trees and plants. At the far end of the garden is another teaching space – an underfloor-heated pavilion, with sliding glass doors, an all-weather veranda and a wonderful view of Hampstead, trees and long-distance trains.
Children make weekly visits to the Community Centre for dance and to Primrose Hill Park for outdoor play and Forest School.
“The children love spotting the London landmarks from the top of Primrose Hill and watching the freight and passenger trains from our garden. Both inspire much play and learning.”
Ida - Lead Educator
